Our primary research areas

We are focused on several key areas of interest, which include:
Phylogenetic systematics: we aim to integrate morphological, molecular, and ecological data to enhance our understanding of species diversity and relationships within amphibians and reptiles.
Biogeography: our research aims to uncover the primary processes that have shaped Neotropical biodiversity.

Integrative taxonomy: we are interested in defining the boundaries between species by integrating molecular, morphological, and natural history data.
Phylogeography: by analyzing molecular and natural history data, we aim to infer the historical processes that may have influenced the current geographic distributions of individuals.
Natural history: we investigate and compare diet and reproductive biology by examining specimens in museum collections and conducting fieldwork. Additionally, we analyze sexual dimorphism in size and shape using both linear and geometric data.
